Entertaining

Entertaining story as usual from Patterson. It’s a not very well disguised attempt to paint President Trump as an unhinged psychopath. It’s a better description of the current corrupt, lawless, autocratic administration.

Waste of paper and ink

Depending on your political persuasion the deranged president is either Donald Trump or Joe Biden. Characters are not sympathetic. Premise is not realistic. Don’t waste your time or money. If this is Patterson’s best work, every copy of everything he has written should be rounded up and recycled as the best use of paper.

Garbage Anti-Trump

This book was, and is, a complete compilation of garbage. I buy books to escape and relax. If I wanted Anti-Trump literature I would buy it elsewhere. This book is a waste of paper and money. Read about 1/4 of it and finally had enough. Nothing but cheap shots, poor writing and an idiotic story.

Did Patterson write this book?

In a word "tedious" -- character after character -- going no where. Save your money.

Awesome

Just finished reading. I had to keep reading to find out what happens next. This book really reminds me of current events and what is and could happen in todays world. I kept picturing one former leader doing the things this President is doing in office. A good read

Can the President of America do anything he pleases to protect the interests of his country?

Hold on to your stocking caps when you begin reading this thriller. The short chapters make the book unable to put down. Just like that bowl of barbecue corn chips.
Keegan Barrett was Director of the CIA and now is US President. He has some targets that he lacked authorization to go after as CIA Director. Now he assigns 2 CIA agents, Noa Himel and Liam Grey, to carry out his unconstitutional plans. Barrett has poisoned the Vice President and moved anybody that can stop him out of the way. His plans go awry when a permanent CIA Director, Hannah Abrams, gets appointed by the Senate over his temporary appointment. Nevertheless he pushes on convinced of the correctness of his actions. There is nobody with a backbone to stop him.

First book read

Interesting book and very in detailed. I enjoyed reading this book. I could see the story in my mind every detail of the characters. If I say more I might spoil it for you. I plan on reading more books by the author.

A book for our times

Great read. Fat paced. A real page turner not easy to put down butThe trouble with dystopian works are that they COULD HAPPEN. Just like the similar works from the 1960’s there is a lesson not to be discounted.

Been years since I read Patterson and I should have left it that way

Flat writing, awful editing, sloppy proofreading. For a supposed thriller this was just one long slog to the end, Not a single character had any dimension and when in doubt of what to say the authors just added description of what their cardboard characters were wearing. I wish there were a way to get my money and my time back.
