Must read for anyone interested in US policy.

Powerful and depressing, this is the most important writing on international affairs and on US national policy that has been written in recent years.

Mr Chomsky: Hugo Chavez and Nicolas also "say so" thanks to you.

I can't forgive Mr. Chomsky, an armchair latte-drinking communist, for helping Hugo Chavez engineer his socialist rob-o-lution in Venezuela. That model has helped others in the region gain power and subvert the institiutions to stay in power forever and brutalize the population.. Nowadays Mr. Chomsky is trying to divorce himself from the mess he helped design and for supporting the international marketing campaign that gave Chavez and his thugs some air cover during heydays of oil at $100/barrel. Mostly in Spanish, he writes scathing articles from his local Starbucks in Mexico City on how Venezuela has lost its original path to greatness. In his quest to fight "American Imperialism", Mr. Chomsky earned some hefty capitalistic consulting fees from this unsavory Third World dictator and now he's trying to cover the mess he helped create. He has zero credibility in my opinion.

I am about 1/3 into reading it. Not original ideas being developed and presented, but rather a collection of independent short essays collected from other sources. Doesn't provide a deep look, but rather a scatter-shot superficial commentary on various situations.
