  • At this high school, instead of jocks and nerds, the students are divided into predators and prey.
  • At a high school where the students are literally divided into predators and prey, friendships maintain the fragile peace. Who among them will become a Beastar—a hero destined to lead in a society naturally rife with mistrust?Dwarf rabbit Haru’s odd behavior causes gray wolf Legoshi to flee. He then learns that the Drama Club recruits new students with inner demons. What does their club president, red deer Louis, wrestle with…? Before Legoshi can figure it out, Louis pressures him to face not only his own weaknesses but also his strengths. Legoshi’s character is truly put to the test when his onstage fight choreography with Bengal tiger Bill turns all too real. Has someone broken the school rules? And could the battle between Legoshi and Bill involve…rabbits?

A great story with a mature tone with it

Came right on time well package. The volume was great had an unexpected thing happened early in the chapters but got balance by the tone throughout the story will continue reading this. And I do recommend it to anyone wishing to read this also it has a very mature tone in the volume just a heads up.

Very good second volume but...

Someone put tape on the back cover, fortunately after I removed the tape it didn't damaged the book, but the book still had the remaining glue on it, it was after a pair of cleaning sessions with a cloth and some alcohol that I managed to remove the glue.

Fantastic Beasts

The character designs and overall aesthetic of the Beastars universe is fantastic. I'm really looking forward to the next book release and next month's Netflix adaptation!

Can’t wait to read more

The story is getting good, the bunny in the shed scene caught me off guard, and the fight between wolf and tiger was shocking but cool

I think I get the hype.

I wasn't really sure what to make of the first volume of Beastars. This series comes with a lot of hype, and I really didn't think it fully delivered. After volume 2, I do think I see the beginnings of what people are talking about, but it's going to need to go a lot further before I stop thinking of it as overrated.

Quick catchup. Beastars takes place in a world where animals are sentient, humans are nowhere to be found, and for some reason, herbivores and carnivores are going to high school together. The main series follows Legoshi a loner gray wolf going through an 'awakening' of sorts. Legoshi works in his high school drama club, and it's time for the play to begin.

This volumes begins to show off some genuinely good character writing. Louis, despite his arrogance, demonstrates some vulnerabilities regarding his injured leg. Haru the rabbit has some frank thoughts about sex you don't really see given in an anime. Legoshi starts to show some of his repressed emotions. But while those character moments are enjoyable, I can't help but feel the plot is still moving slow. There's been little discussion of the Alpaca that was murdered in the first chapter, and I would have thought that would be a bigger deal.

Well, I hope Volume 3 continues to improve.
