Description

"This was soooo bloody good! It was hot and dirty and super sexy in every way you've ever wanted an incredibly well-written story to be. THIS is what you've been missing, folks. Honestly, I can't even with Eris Adderly. She's a writing wizard who sees the laws of what should and should not be--and then just blows right on by them, because she makes her own damn rules. Cannot recommend his book enough. 25/5 stars... which is to say... I plan on reading it over and over... and over..." ~ Myra Danvers, USA Today Bestselling Author of The Last Tritan series "Very hot, and very funny. All of it done with believable panache and clear, contagious personal enjoyment." ~ A.S. Etaski, author of the Sister Seekers series From the Inside Flap Excerpt from Bass-Ackwards : The lock to the front clacked shut. Bill turned to face her. ... after we lock up. Christina swallowed.xa0Why did he always look at her like that? Like he wanted to say something but made himself clamp down instead. Those eyes of his were dark with she-didn't-know-what and his fists clenched and released.xa0He stepped in her direction. Past her. Opened the door to the back and held it.xa0"Come on." F---. You don't have to. Just leave. Don't come back. That paycheck sat in her purse, though. F---! Christina stood. Followed.xa0He didn't stop once they entered the back half, though. The second door swung open to birdsong and highway noise.xa0"Outside." His head jerked toward the exit.xa0Her mouth came open, but he was serious. She suppressed a whine and went.xa0It was close enough to summer now that daylight still had its say at six o'clock. Shadows hung purple, but the western walls of buildings and trees would be warm and gold a while longer.xa0Her boss led her around to the back of the main office. A concrete pad extended maybe a yard from the foundation and ran the length of the building. The AC unit sat out there, along with some discarded truck parts that leaned against the back wall. An axle, a front bumper. Something round with a jumble of wires sticking out of it.xa0There was also a pair of green plastic chairs.xa0Presumably they were for employees who smoked, but she hadn't seen anyone use them aside from Bill, and that had only been right when she'd started working there. He'd either quit, or just didn't do it at work anymore. His clothes don't smell like smoke. Christina made and quickly concealed a face at having been close enough to him to know a thing like that, now.xa0He took one of the chairs and sat, his back almost up against the building. Her legs halted her a couple yards away, refusing to go any further without a command. The man wanted an hour a week? Fine. But she wasn't going to go jumping to it.xa0He was untucking his shirt. His hands worked open the top button of his pants. When they dropped to his thighs, he looked over at her. Expectant.xa0Ten thousand worries exploded and started fluttering around in her head. Why not just snag one and blurt?xa0"I don't think that chair's gonna hold both of us, Bill."xa0It might have been giddy imagination, but she could almost believe she saw the corner of his mouth turn up in a smile.xa0"It doesn't need to hold both of us."xa0She started to tilt her head, but then her stomach dropped. No. His gaze swept her from top to bottom, and he settled back into the chair, knees sprawled wide.xa0"Go on."xa0"Seriously?" she said. "Out here?" There was nothing behind the Haul Ash but a creek bed some twenty yards off. Trees. Brush. Probably no one would see, but ... No no no. Brown eyes made a deliberate move to his lap and then back to meet hers again. The expression on his face never changed. He just waited, the a--hole, for her to come do it. Because he knew she would. Eris writes dark, escape-from-reality romance full of criminals and outcasts. Her stories are the stomping grounds for bada** heroines, untameable alphas, a spectrum of sexuality, and a serious disregard for convention.Expect the decadent and filthy, the crude and sublime, sometimes all at once. Pick a safeword and grab a towel before reading. She is a complete nerd and possible crazy cat lady. She will annoy you with puns. Read more

Fire hot sex that's so delightfully wrong!

The sex is so wrong and often bordering on voyeur. I loved the character development. It's a couple that shouldn't work but it's so hot they do and it gave me all the feels. The sex is hot, I love that's its a quick-dick book and it explores all forms of sex.

COMBUSTIBLE!

No slow burn in this one – it comes out of the gate HOT and never lets up. It might make you uncomfortable at times but, just like our protagonist Christina Lee, in will be in all the right places. 😉 This author has a way with words and storytelling that gives me the butterflies in the belly feels that I love in a good romance mixed with the hot and bothered I love in an even better bodice ripper. Granted, no bodices get ripped (maybe a pair of panties…or two!) but that’s the awesome blend of feelings and great sex scenes this author can conjure up and it is NEVER boring. A$$hole Bill and Christina Lee will have you asking why these two can’t see what’s in front of their faces, but that makes the ride even more fun – by the end, you’ll be glad they went about it all bass-ackwards! (PS – read this author’s other works!! While not all in the same genre, I have LOVED everything I’ve read!)

Bill Marshall was a man I wanted to hate!

The more of Bass-Ackwards I read, the more I loved Bill. Is he an a--hole, yes he is. Is Christina capable of saying no, yes she is. Like Christina, I fell in love with Bill somewhere along the way. My only complaint is that the story is not long enough. I think that there is more to this story, but it ends in a good place.

I liked it, I liked it...

So, I’ll be totally honest at first I was like....um, I’m not so sure about this. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I worried that I had made a mistake. BUT - I did not, no mistake made, shew! As I got more into the story I realized I was really enjoying it. It has a very different storyline than anything that I have read before. By the time it was over, I was totally invested in the book. It has a very high steam factor and my husband greatly appreciated the book even though he didn’t read the first page. 😉
