Backpack Explorer: Beach Walk

Got this for my grandkids age 3 and 7---they have been searching through the book planning on what they will find and what they will play when they get to the beach. They have been to the beach the last three years---but this book is making the visit all new to them.

Very informative with some fun activities that won't require you to buy much. Good for all ages, although more geared towards younger children. Certainly only good for trips to the ocean or even the aquarium. I hoped it would include all bodies of water, but it doesn't.

I purchased as a gift for my niece. They go to the beach a ton and I thought it would be a neat activity for her to do. She is six and seemed to like it.

This book is going to be treasured by my nephew and his little brother. It looks like the way it is made will help keep it from getting destroyed by the inevitable salt water splashes.

This is a wonderful book. My four year old granddaughter loved it. Gave it to her one week before our beach trip. Was ready to do all the activities in it the minute we arrived. A wonderful way to share this happy time together. Filled full of great information and fun projects to do. Highly recommend!

Backpack Explorer: Beach Walk is a children’s nonfiction activity book by the editors of Storey Publishing. I enjoyed this short (60 page) action-packed book. I received an ARC ebook for my review. A hardback copy will be available April 2, 2019 that features a real magnifying glass, stickers to use in the book, and a beach log to record what you did and what you saw.

The text in this book is organized in one – five paragraphs per page, which is sufficient for grades 2-3. The authors employ imagery to help relay the messages. The primary medium are colorful photographs.

It was interesting to see the different plants and animals of each family. Example, there are at least twelve different types of seaweed and at least nine different types of crustaceans.

This book is great for young beachcombers, ages 4-8, to use along with their caretakers. My favorite part of the book was the photographs of the different types of sand castles.

I recommend this book to young homeschoolers and young fans of the beach because it showcases items found at the beach and includes fun activities to do while at the beach.

This is one in a series. They are all wonderful books. Guaranteed to get your child outside for extended periods of time. There is a little magnifying glass( plastic) along with it. Great pictures and lots of ideas.

Did I buy a used one? The sticker are gone!
