Not what I expected

I bought this book so I could have hardcover version of Animal Farm, so I didn’t have to use my Highschool’s paperback version—as I highly dislike paperback, and I wanted to make my own annotations via highlights and such. I believe the reason for my dislikes is a fault of my own for not looking closer at the description of the listing.
What I do like:
The illustrations are amazing, and very pleasing to look at. I also love the size of the texts as smaller text sizes strain my eyes.

What I dislike:
This is heavily condensed version of the original. It cuts out key character defining moments. It simply says in the beginning that the animals pile into the barn, cutting out how each animal is individually introduced. Learning about each character’s traits aids in strengthening the message behind the story. Instead we have a feeble character page in the beginning where we are told who the characters, and not shown. You could argue in the original we were told who the characters are, but in the first chapter we are shown that Boxer and Clover are considerate of others as they carefully settle down to not trample anyone. Additionally, there are cut characters such as Squealer (I believe is his name).
There are also no define chapters, which is a personal annoyance.
I’m the back it also simply states who the characters are suppose to represent, which I can see the value of…but it also takes away from connecting the characters to modern day people, and not just people of the past.

I bought two copies, one for a friend and one for myself. I intend to keep my copy for myself; but I’m going to have to give away the copy I bought for my friend and I’m not going to be able to follow along in class while discussing the book. I have to now look to buy another book, which will hopefully be more faithful.

Great book for kids

This is a great book but I thought it was for adults. I didn’t know that it was for kids. I didn’t do enough research before buying it. But this is the absolute perfect book for kids to get this story’s point across. It even has descriptions and artwork in the back of the book explaining things on a lower level for children

THIS IS A CHILDREN'S VERSION NOT THE ORIGINAL

It seems like a nice book, but Amazon cannot list this as the hardcover version of the original because it's not. It's a Bowdlerized kid version with pictures and quizzes. If that's what you want, great, have at it. But if you're looking for the hardcover of the original, this AIN'T IT, CHIEF!

Not full length

Very well written but it wasn’t till the end that I realized it was the shortened version. I’m a little bummed
