Same sex penguin book.

This book is about same sex between two penguins. I did not know this before purchasing and I am returning it. Not for my 3 year old! I am surprised this is a teachers pick.

I was horrified to find out that this book is just a propaganda peace to indoctrinate little children to thinking homosexuality is normal and its good for kids to be brought up with two dads

Read this book as it was advertised to be about adoption. I was horrified to find out that this book is just a propaganda peace to indoctrinate little children to thinking homosexuality is normal and its good for kids to be brought up with two dads! this book is not an innocent account of a real-life story of two penguins. It's twisted to brainwash children.

If your intention is to teach your kids about same sex families this is the book for you. Otherwise stay clear.

GRAB IT JUST IN CASE THEY BAN IT AGAIN!

This book is priceless. I started reading it to my 3 year old son and changes some of the words making it more age appropriate. As he became older, I started slowly reading the real words. We don't judge and I have always raised all my children to respect everyone and support each other like you would like to be supported. I've raised amazing children who love all and understand we are all on this planet together and are all human. We all deserve to live our best life and be treated with empathy and understanding. We must respect each others way of life.

Love Makes a Family

This factual, non-fiction book is a great way to help children understand non-traditional family configurations. Sometimes two men or two women love each other and want a family together. No need to go into advanced concepts of sexuality, only to accept the fact that a classmate may have two male or two female parents, and what's most important is that they care about each other. Because two penguins can have a family if there's an egg available, so can two people. The concept applies to foster or adoptive parents, also. Using a true story about penguins (and I think there have been similar events with other animals) makes the point without going into biological details that aren't necessary for kindergarteners. I hope my grandchildren will grow up judging people by the way they treat others, not by their biological sexuality.
I reduced the rating to 4 because the print is too small for easy reading and I suspect the text could have been shortened without losing clarity. The fewer words, the better, for board-books.

Teaches about homosexuality

It’s teaches about homosexual relationships. Be mindful of this before reading the books to your child. Also, would be nice if there was a filter to filter these types of books out.

Great story

I bought this book, And Tango Makes Three, specifically because it’s a banned book. I’m the matriarch of a liberal family and we buy banned books for each other. This one was purchased for my 5 year old granddaughter and she loves it. She understands there are all kinds of families and ways to make families and it’s appropriate for her. Her mom, my daughter, loved that I bought it for her. I got the board book, but it’s not a baby book per se, as it has longer sentences in smaller type on each page, not like most board books.
