If You've Never Done Amigurumi, Start Here!
This is a brilliant crochet/amigurumi instruction book. I'll start with the least important. The production values are gorgeous. There are a huge number of beautiful, instructive photos. The patterns are decidedly 'cute' (or kawaii as the author says - a trending Japanese term - myself, I prefer the British 'twee'). But it's the quality of the instructions that pushed me to take the time to write a review. The instructions are brilliant. Doctor Lee is a scientist by day and the instructions show the attention to detail required of a scientific publication, or an experimental protocol for someone else to follow. I believe you could learn to crochet from these illustrations, and certainly you will be able to crochet and assemble each of these dolls with minimum stress. To top it all, throughout are QR codes leading to video tutorials. Oh, and each doll comes with a story! I'm an instant fan, and a follower. (I've been doing complex crochet for 53 years and amigurumi for 10.)

Too cute but too hard.
I really don’t know where to begin. These are absolutely adorable. That should give you a 5-star rating, right? But...they are so so hard!! You are supposed to use cotton yarn (which splits so easily) and very small hooks. It was almost impossible to not split the yarn with such a tiny hook! I just couldn’t do it. I got the kitten head done, but couldn’t even get past the first row of one leg!! And I’ve been crocheting for 40 years. Beware.

Well written and beautifully fun!
These are completely adorable patterns and they’re very well written out. I was trying to respond to Gloria but for some reason Amazon isn’t letting me today. Apparently she’s never made a body like this but I have. Here’s what you need to do. Trust what it is telling you. Chain four, and then single crochet into the front loops of the sc at the top of the right leg, chain one, turn and single crochet into the back loops of the right leg same leg, then keep following the pattern. This will give you your around on the body pattern. Connecting the legs automatically to the body without any sewing. You just need to trust the pattern and try it.

Wonderful book with detailed instructions for new and experienced crocheters
This book is delightful! The author is incredibly thorough and detailed in her instructions for both crocheting the pieces and assembly. I highly recommend it for anyone new to crochet and Amigurumi, as well as experienced toy makers and crocheters! She even included QR codes for even MORE detailed instructions for each pattern. Love this book!

Beginner Friendly 🧶
I have enjoyed this book more than I thought I would! I’ve only been crocheting for five months and thought it would be a challenge but Erinna makes the patterns very detailed and easy to follow, even for a beginner. She provides QR codes for every stitch which was very helpful - I learned a few new stitches along the way thanks to the videos. I used Lily Sugar 'n Cream Solid Yarn, which is a medium (4) weight and that has worked just fine for all my projects.

Hit or miss instructions
The crochet animals are cute but the instructions tend to be very vague and seem to skip necessary steps. More in-depth instructions would be an improvement. More photos of the steps would be helpful.
I feel I’m advanced in crochet and so I was able to take a stab at what some of the instructions really meant and when I could not I just made adjustments based on my own knowledge. I would not recommend this book, especially to someone new to crochet.
