My 8 year old daughter does not like to read

My 8 year old daughter does not like to read. It's not that she can't read, she just doesn't like it. She couldn't find anything that holds her interest --- and then we came across Amelia Bedelia. She reluctantly started reading the first one and found she loved it. It's interesting and easy for her to read and understand (second grade). She asked for all the books for Christmas. If you have a little one that doesn't like reading, try this series.

The Great Amelia Bedelia!

An updated version of Amelia Bedelia! I tried reading the original series to my daughter and she was having a hard time relating although I still loved them. I came across this box set and decided to give it a try. It follows Amelia Bedelia as a kid and is hilarious! They did a great job of updating the stories surrounding Amelia and staying true to the literalness that Amelia thrives on. Definitely a great read!

Just OK

A bit harder to read than expected so will put away for a few months until readin level goes up. Also all black and white pictures so not very inviting.

For my daughters

Bought these for my daughters, one whose name happens to be Amelia. She's only 2 but her older sisters enjoy reading the books. And I love the multipacks. They always sell them at the kids book fairs separately and for so much more money. Great deal.

Cute series

My 6 year old adores these books. We have read several Amelia books and she was not originally a fan. Now she is hooked reading a chapter or two a night. My son listens too. They are cute

Great series for little ones who can't get enough of Amelia Bedelia

What can I say other than this series is a major favorite at our home. Amelia Bedelia's literal interpretation of idioms is a major source of entertainment for my little ones who now spent time reading the books all by themselves. I wanted a series that said away from words such as dumb, and stupid which I see sometimes in other series and these books pretty much do that except for a few accessional sprinkling here and there. Will continue to buy and read them! It also seems to translate well with both boys and girls.

Three cheers for Amelia Bedelia

Amelia Bedelia cracks me up and these chapter books are no exception. Great for third graders to read to themselves or grown-ups to read to littler ones. Buying them in a set is much more economical them buying them all separately.
