New York Times
bestseller Charlaine Harris finally returns to her fan-favorite Aurora Teagarden series with
All the Little Liars
, a fabulously fun new mystery and the basis for a movie from Hallmark.
Aurora Teagarden is basking in the news of her pregnancy when disaster strikes her small Georgia town: four kids vanish from the school soccer field in an afternoon. Aurora’s 15-year-old brother Phillip is one of them. Also gone are two of his friends, and an 11-year-old girl who was just hoping to get a ride home from soccer practice. And then there’s an even worse discovery―at the kids’ last known destination, a dead body. While the local police and sheriff’s department comb the county for the missing kids and interview everyone even remotely involved, Aurora and her new husband, true crime writer Robin Crusoe, begin their own investigation. Could the death and kidnappings have anything to do with a group of bullies at the middle school? Is Phillip’s disappearance related to Aurora’s father’s gambling debts? Or is Phillip himself, new to town and an unknown quantity, responsible for taking the other children? But regardless of the reason, as the days go by, the most important questions remain. Are the kids still alive? Who could be concealing them? Where could they be?With Christmas approaching, Aurora is determined to find her brother…if he’s still alive.

this wasn't the best offering. It seemed to drag in the beginning
I'm a huge fan of this series and everything that Mrs. Harris writes. However, while I adore Roe Teagarden, this wasn't the best offering. It seemed to drag in the beginning, the mystery was a bit predictable, and it felt the the questions/observations from Roe were very repetitive. At one point I was also taken completely out of the story by an inconsistency. On page 23, Roe tells how she called her best friend Amina to share the news of her pregnancy. In that instance, Amina is thrilled, begins to weep with joy, and says that she has lots of baby clothes she can share with Roe. But then, on page 133, Amina is in town and Roe "breaks the news" to Amina of her pregnancy for the first time...and Amina is both surprised and unhappy. This is not necessarily the author's fault, as she likely just forgot to remove the original line during revisions, but it's a wonder that the professional editors and proofreader that worked on this book didn't catch such a glaring inconsistency. Overall, it was an enjoyable read, but I enjoy Harris' other works better.

It's Great to Have Aurora Back!
It has been 13 years since we last visited Aurora Teagarden and if anything she's even better with the passing of time. Lots of changes have come Aurora's life. She's newly married, pregnant and her half brother is living with her.
The mystery starts right away when her brother fails to come home for dinner. Assuming he is still with friends, Aurora is beside herself when she finds that not only is he not with the friends, they too are missing. From there the plot takes some interesting twists complete with one of the missing teens being found dead in an alley. While I worked out who was responsible for that death, I was clueless as to what had happened to the kids until very close to the end.
I have missed Aurora and hope there are many more books featuring her to come.
I received this book from the publisher.

No respect for the reader
I am so glad I borrowed this from the library. I was only robbed of the time I wasted instead of money as well. Glaring editing errors and plot points 20 years out of date. In this age of social media and anti bullying initiatives, this story is supremely unlikely to have occurred in the present day.
Ms. Harris is out of touch with the average American and revisits her old formulas, blissfully ignorant of how things have changed. I suspect this is an old, abandoned story she had lying around that she put the minimum effort into pushing out to cash in on her tv series. Not nearly enough polish on this turd.
Just more proof of her greed.

What happened?
I have eagerly anticipated another book in the Aurora Teagarden series and unfortunately was very disappointed. As others have pointed out the inconsistencies in the book are hard to overlook and it just was not a pleasant book to read. There was no real action, just sitting around in the house only to leave an go to another house. The characters felt stiff and Aurora turned into a completely different person. No backbone and quite boring. I skipped to the end of the book as I didn't want to read it anymore.I should have known it wouldn't be good as the cover art looked cheap and the actual book was a weird size. I'm glad I found this series years back and enjoyed the other books. If this was the first one I had ever read, it would be my last. I won't be reading any more. Sad, because this was one of my favorite series.

No humor, sad plot, her usual good writing.
Ok book, but Harris has lost her sense of humor in all her books. Back photo shows her looking great, though, very serious for a Roe Teagarden

A misstep.
Year after Aurora has turned into a judgemental bore, the mystery is slow and the inconsistencies are appalling. What happened to this character? Are we sure Ms. Harris actually wrote this book?

A CONVOLUTED TALE TO BE SURE!
This is one of the most boring books I have ever read! There are too many characters, only a few of whom are actually developed and I kept checking to see who was related to whom. The many flashbacks to Aurora's pregnancy annoyed me because it was just another item to keep the story from moving forward. This all surprised me because I really have enjoyed the Sookie Stackhouse books. They are so creatively put together that I find it difficult to believe that these books are written by the same author!

it was a major disappointment. Too many inconsistencies
As excited as I was to receive this, in the end, it was a major disappointment. Too many inconsistencies, and it felt like a lot of the angst was repetitive. I felt like I was in a hover pattern just waiting for anything to move forward in this story. Did not hold my interest well.

for cozy-mystery fans
This was my first Aurora Teagarden book; it is of the cozy mystery genre. She is a pregnant librarian. Several children and teens, including her half-brother, are missing or dead. Because this is a chick-lit, she is able to solve the mystery, not the local police, not the FBI. Better books await.
