By ckedgar - See all my reviews This review is from: Abandoned Hearts (The Ozark Durham Series) (Kindle Edition) I loved this book! The author did a great job building the romantic tension between Jacob and Ann. She was able to capture the characters strong desires while still maintaining Biblical values. Jacob and Ann's struggles from their pasts felt genuine and my heart ached with them. The relationships between the children and the adults was very sweet. I felt like a part of the family and hated to see the book end. I'm so glad there are two more books in this series! I hope you enjoyed reading Abandoned Hearts as much as I enjoyed writing it. This story came about by a lot of different angles. A country road near our home inspired its start and the cougar elements stemmed from numerous sightings from the local community. xa0 My family and I live in the area described in this book and in a home not too dissimilar from Jacob's cabin. We've had everything but a cougar in our yard and enjoy the excitement each new visitor brings. (As long as we're safely inside the house!) xa0 If you enjoyed Abandoned Hearts, please consider leaving a review. Your encouraging words could be the catalyst someone else needs to purchase this book. Not only would you be sharing the Godly messages I shared with you, but you would also help promote me as an author. xa0Thanks again, and God bless!xa0Regina From the Inside Flap
Had she unknowingly entered the cougar's lair?
The light changed, as if a shadow passed by. Ann's breath froze. "Is someone else here?"Above, loft boards creaked. Dust sprinkled into the shafts of light around her. Her mind raced as a rapid pounding claimed her heart. Don't panic. She forced a breath against the tightening of her chest.Frantic eyes searched for an exit. The stall door held her only escape. Ann took shallow breaths as she moved toward the other side of the room. The dirt floor softened her footsteps. Once there, she paused and twirled her hair. The open front of the barn stood partially visible. Ann strained to see or hear something...anything outside the opening. She started forward.Thump.A startled shriek escaped her lips.Had something heavy fallen from the loft? She held her breath. A crash followed a blur of movement. Something large made a quick retreat.Ann screamed. With only three books written thus far and her readers clamoring for more, Regina Tittel holds the promise of becoming the next best-loved author of inspirational fiction. Likened to famed author, Debbie Macomber, her writing is descriptive and God honoring.
"The style of Regina's writing draws the reader into the plot from the first page." - Connie Cortright
Each book is packed with romantic tension, yet upholds Biblical morality giving her readers a self-improving spiritual message sure to touch each soul. Her characters are easily relatable, hooking readers from the start. As one reviewer describes Mrs. Tittel's talent, "She is a gifted writer, who writes from her heart and addresses things in life that we are faced with at one time or another."Regina gains inspiration from where she resides in the Ozarks with her family.
