Beautifully Written and Thought-Provoking!

How refreshing to read a Christian novel so well-written that is also a page-turner! Taking place from 1817-1837, Alcy, the main character, is authentic and transparent as she struggles to see God's hand in circumstances she would never have chosen for herself. I so appreciate the picture the author paints of life within a Native American tribe. This is historical fiction at its best. They thought they were capturing a young white woman, but Jesus was using her to capture their hearts for Him. I was very impressed with the way the author portrayed the evangelization of this people as God met them and loved them where they were while at the same time giving them the grace to examine their lives through His truth. The book is believable but unpredictable so that you can't put it down. I am grateful for the places I went and people I met through A River Too Deep.

Fantastic Read

I have always been fascinated with the Native culture since my family heritage is Blackfoot. All the characters seem to come to life along with the scenery. The story was very easy to read and understand and true to life. It will stick with you for a very long time. This novel would make an excellent movie. could not put it down and didn't want it to end.

Alcy Callen is taken Preying Eagle . At first she is terrified of him, but as a time goes by, she learns to trust him. Jesus was using her to capture their hearts for Him. Alcy is transformed into Eyes-Like Water.

Not everything buried is a treasure.

Good read with moral values that I feel are rarely emphasized in current reading material. Young adults should more easily identify with the characters.
