A New World: Reckoning

After 9 books and John O'Brien is still coming on strong with his A New World Series and they just keep getting better.

The night book of this series, Reckoning continues with a mission Greg takes on and he comes across some survivors who have amassed in a cultic groups. While dealing with this cultic group a larger threat ensues and a suspenseful chase with a heartbreaking ending plays out. Leonard and his crew find only destruction but have a hope that some of the US Navy still might have survived. These books puts the reader into the middle of the action as Jack and his group of survivors must continue surviving. As in all the other books, the author's knowledge about military tactic and the ability to tell a completing story places the reader in this dangerous world. The action will make your heart race and place you face to face with the danger. I look forward to continuing on with this series and can't wait to see how the story of survival against all odds continues!

First of all, John, I want to thank you for your service to our country in Desert Storm. That being said, I'll talk about the books. I got to the party late, so I didn't have to wait for the next one to come out, I could just finish one and start the next, and believe me, I am waiting breathlessly for Storm to be released. I'm so glad I didn't have to wait for the first 9 because they were awesome. John is a great writer with excellent plot line, character development (so much so that I had to keep reminding myself that these were fictional characters. That's how much I cared about them.) He has just the right amount of horror/thriller build-up, then release, but I still had to run for my zanax for panic attacks and 81mg aspirin lest I have a heart attack! Yet I still want more and will read everything he writes!

Another great book in a great story line. Can't wait for the next one. Be very afraid of the dark.

I have read nearly everthing out there on this fun topic: survival, fighting to live, struggling to eat, and keep the ones you love alive. These stories are fun and will keep you up reading at night. This book and the main character are ones you will instantly like. I have given these books to each of my brothers and everyone said they cannot stop reading these... Thanks for a great series Mr. O'brien. Look forward to every book...

Read the whole series over the past few months. Safe to say it was a great read! I can't wait for the next installment.

Reckoning is the ninth book in this series

This is the best book of the series yet. The introduction of another nemesis of the group has been just the right touch. Good storyline with interesting characters. Just love reading about Bri's development as a bad ass warrior!

Would love to see the next book, or the one after that 10-12 years after TSHTF. Would really be interested in seeing what has changed (other than the obvious) after the passage of time.

I like nearly everything about this series. Mostly, I enjoy the big picture of how a large group survives.

Great series. Very talented writer and very descriptive. Love this series. Have read this entire series within last month. Cant wait for the next book.
