Great For Students

Bought a copy of this for my 6th Grade students after we read the play in class. They loved it. They kept checking it out of our Classroom Library so much that it was hardly ever on the shelf for a few minutes at a time!

Great choice for 5th to 6th Grade Students.

Great for the classroom!

I've looked at other graphic novel and children's versions of "A Midsummer Night's Dream", but none of them were as good as this one. I used it with 6th graders to support our reading of the original text. The color illustrations are fantastic, and it has the right amount of dialogue in the speech bubbles to give kids a clear idea of what's happening in each scene, but not so much that it's laborious to read or hard to fit under the document camera if you want to show it to the whole class. It has some quotes from the original version in it, but it's mostly paraphrasing lines. The kids in my class loved it and wanted to check out copies from all the libraries in the area so they could read it again and again!

Helps eliminate Shakes-fear

I was charged with the task of teaching Shakespeare to 8th graders in a title 1 school. They were not enthused. Nor was I. The graphics made this appealing to the kids and opened their mind to the possibility that Shakespeare might not totally suck. Win!

Enjoyable graphic book but fell apart...

My granddaughter was disappointed this book fell apart after she read it twice. But, she loved the book in prep for the play.

My 5 year old can't put it down!

This is such a fun way to introduce Shakespeare to children. My son, who is almost 6, absolutely loves this. He wants to keep reading it over and over again. He laughs out loud at so many things. It's fun!

The binding is absolute trash, but the drawings are kinda cute.

This book came apart within the first three checkouts. The graphics are prettier than the other graphic novel versions of Midsummer, but that's about all that it has going for it.
