A plus guide review

The textbook is written well, and is also well organized. The book is assumes the reader is a beginner. Do not get the Kindle version of the books if you want to be able to see pictures clearly. Most of the pictures on the Kindle book version are blurred. The graphics are an important part of the book lesson learning tool. I had to buy the hardback copy just to be able to see the graphics in the book. I hope this helps some

More learning than I thought I could, in about 10% of the time I thought I'd need.

For a couple decades, I put off learning what I found in the course that used this textbook. I was always worried how long it would take me to learn all that computer jargon, all those parts, all those software procedures. This text is remarkably clear. Normally I do much better in a classroom environment, but even with the class being taught online, I was able to learn thoroughly, nearly all because of this textbook. After the course, I followed the instructor's suggestion to buy an electronic edition, which as a searchable document, is an excellent reference.

Awesome book except needs update

I bought this 3 years ago for a college course, as I was planning on going into nursing IT. At the time, it was the most up-to-date text available. Unfortunately, I became injured and needed several surgeries, requiring me to put my educational plans on hold. I am now starting back, but since computer tech changes so quicly, I just bought Mike Myers All in One CompTIA A+ exam guide to compare. I really like the layout and descriptions of Andrew's text better and was able to understand practical concepts much easier. But, it needs an update which I Would Hope will be out within 12 months.
