A Deep Dark Secret: A Novel

From beginning to end the book kept you wanting more. Although the story line is sad it definately kept you wanting to know what would happen next. It is also a story that will help you to understand how these things happen and the thought pattern of children. It's a story that reminds you to talk to your children and let them know where you stand on the topic so prayerfully they will never feel the way this child did and they know they can come to you about anything. Great book!

This book was an exceptionally great view into the story of a little girl with a secret. I believe stories of this magnitude should be revealed to victims of abuse- before and after. Many young girls live with this secret forever and are never healed. This book was not only about the secret, but it was based on strength. Thanks for writing this novel, Mrs. Roby!

I truly like that fact that the Author gives the readers a CLEAR AND REAL picture of just what is going on in this world.

I loved this book!! The storyline keept my attention..only thing I didnt like was what happened to the little girl but that the story. I hope another story comes after this one. I would like to know how the girl life ends up and her lil sister.

I enjoyed reading this novel and so will you.

I said this book was disturbing because Jillian's stepdad is just sick! He's disgusting, manipulative and uses fear to prevent Jillian from telling anyone about the abuse. He even uses the Bible to justify what he's doing! The sad thing is that there are children out here in the real world experiencing sexual abuse from people they know and trust. I kept hoping that Jillian would tell someone instead of keeping it to herself. The author did a great job of showing how Jillian felt/how she was trying to handle it all. Hopefully this book can help people recognize the signs of an abused child and also shed some light on who the abuser could possibly be.

If you're looking for a book that will keep you on your toes, this book is for you! This book kept me on my toes. It was filed with drama and suspense and I could not put my book down. This book took me about a week to finish. Even though I should of been studying for my final exams, I just had to read this book. I am most likely going to purchase more books from this author just because of this book!

This novel was not very interesting. The author did not develop the characters. More attention could have been focused on how the main character had to deal with the sexual abuse after the mother became aware of the situtation. Also after a tragic act, everything does not go back to normal.
