Description

From Publishers Weekly At the start of the gripping seventh Women's Murder Club thriller from bestseller Patterson and Paetro (after 2007's The 6th Target ), San Francisco is still haunted by the disappearance of Michael Campion, the much-adored teenage son of a former California governor, three months earlier. Following up on a tip that Michael was last seen entering a prostitute's house, homicide inspector Lindsay Boxer and her new partner, Rich Conklin, are shocked when the hooker immediately confesses that Michael, who had a heart defect, died during sex and she disposed of his body. Lindsay's ADA pal, Yuki Castellano, is sure she has a slam-dunk case, but the trial soon takes a bizarre turn. Lindsay and Rich also scramble to track down a serial arsonist responsible for murdering a string of wealthy couples. Lindsay races to put the pieces together before the fires hit too close to home. In true Patterson style, the reader is privy to Lindsay's thoughts as well as the killers', ratcheting up the suspense an extra notch. Fans won't be disappointed with the twist at the end that not even Lindsay sees coming. (Feb.) Copyright © Reed Business Information, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc. "Fast-moving, intricately plotted story in which Boxer steals the show as the tough cop with a good heart" * The Mirror * "The suspense is kept high until the final pages. 7th Heaven is written in a brisk and clear style . . . I enjoy a good plot and this one qualifies in that category . . . the bottom line is that I really enjoyed it and would certainly read more of the series and rather regret not having read the earlier ones" * eurocrime.co.uk * "Another giant of popular fiction to arrive in the shops in January will be James Patterson with 7th Heaven...As with all Patterson novels, expect lots of clever links in the breakneck plot" * Cork Evening Echo * "The seventh in the popular Woman's Murder Club series, this crime drama races along in short, action-packed chapters" * My Weekly * "I stayed up so late finishing it I got a migraine. But it was worth it!" * York Evening Press * --This text refers to the audio_download edition. From AudioFile This installment in the Women's Murder Club series involves murder, stalking, and arson. Lindsay Boxer and her partner, Rich Conklin, investigate a series of brutal arsons in which rich couples are burned alive in their homes. Subplots include a lead on the disappearance of rich kid Michael Campion and a plot involving a psychotic journalist. Carolyn McCormick reads this chilling mystery with just the right touch of suspense. McCormick's soft-voiced narration delivers an unemotional reading of the horrific crimes perpetrated by the story's cold-blooded serial killers. In this way, McCormick keeps herself at arm's length emotionally from the events of the mystery, thereby adroitly increasing its tension and keeping the listener poised for the next piece of the puzzle. James Patterson does it Again!

Once again, I'm completely impressed. Just like all the previous "Women's Murder Club Books" 7th Heaven was a true page turner. With multiple plot twists and climaxes it kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish and in true Patterson style just when I thought I had the whole mystery solved, in the very last pages it all comes to light.
All in all a great read and a great addition to the series. James, you never fail to entertain, entrance and amaze.

I'm done with this series

I enjoyed the first few books but started to get frustrated by the amount of time spent in court and on trials/testimony. It seems to be a bigger and bigger factor in each book. The stories themselves have become disjointed. Finally, and I know this is a small point and a personal annoyance, but a boyfriend that calls his girlfriend "Blondie" gets tiresome very quickly. It's so tacky and impersonal. I've made it this far (mostly because I accidentally purchased book 7 when I was still on book 2) but I'm moving on from these stories.

another page turner

7th Heaven is another delightful who done it in this marvelous series. For anyone who desperately wants to get away but can't, I recommend the Women's mystery Club. The women are. Brave ,charming , and convincing.
The friendship of this diverse group charming. And the murderers
, and police officers well depicted . Yes,The villains are so terrible, burning their victims or chopping them up. Yet it all works out with surprising twists and turns. I cheered for the good guys throughout the novel. Hated when the book came to an end.

Arson and Junie Moon

One case has two college boys , Pidge and Hawk robbing rich people and setting their homes on fire. The other case in this book has to do with a prostitute named Junie Moon and one of her clients being a rich kid named Michael Campion, who is reported missing. Joe is now living in San Francisco. He proposed to Lindsay but she hasn't said yes yet. Claire has a baby girl named Ruby Rose.
I love these books and I read them fast. The chapters are short, not to mention the surprising twists that you don't see coming.

Surprise ending

This one had all the usual twists and turns and ended with a big surprise. As is typical there was more than one case being solved. The women of the women’s murder club never disappoint.

About the same as others

This series is all okay but not worth $7.99 per book. 7th Heaven was a bit gory and as usual Lindsay is the main character but Yuki is more prominent in it. Chapters are typically very short and too much is done in italics. I'll read more if the price ever comes down. I will say the ending was a satisfying surprise.

Draw dropping

This book kept you reading within a midline speed. It draws you into the plot, without drowning your senses. Chapters make one rethink and analyze direction writer had chosen. I feel this book is equally spaced and transition is smooth without long pauses. Very enjoyable read.

Strong female lead!

I really enjoy this series! Strong female leads overall but I also feel like it's a very make perspective on what that should be. I wish the women were more confident instead of always calling back to rely on the men and relationships. With all that said I love seeing strong women getting things done!

Seventh Heaven

This is a complicated jury case with many interesting characters. It is also a multiple fiery murder case by unusual perpetrators. It has a most unusual conclusion.

Excellent story about college grads that go to extremes in ...

Excellent story about college grads that go to extremes in behavior just for the pleasure. A sub-plot about the abuse of power by a member of the "sacred cow" the press that adds to the suspense of the book. This member of the press is trying to either complete a book or make enough money to repay advanced money he received. The means of his capture show great police work.
