Trigger warnings should have been used. I HATED the use of a rape to make a plot point and show how manipulative some jealous woman could be to set something like that up. The fact that Silas didn’t even talk to Jessie before going through with it made me want to vomit. I managed to finish the book even with the stupid immature jealous misunderstandings, the disgusting use of a violent sexual act, and I know I will not read another book in this series. Bdsm is supposed to be based on trust, you set soft and hard limits, you communicate with each other and this became a disturbing misrepresentation of that.

I was given this book for free to read and review. This is book two in this series and you don't have to read book one but I highly recommend you do so; not only to get caught up with the story but also because it is a wonderful read. When I started book two I was chomping at the bit to see how the story would continue because the characters are so intriguing. Though BDSM is a part of tale as one of the main characters owns the club, but the book is more about the personal relationships of the individuals rather than the fetish. In book one I was very happy with the pairings as they were but now things have changed some and since one of my favorite characters is by far Salinger and this book really goes more into depth on the how he could be a viable mate for her, I have hopes for a switch. I really love this series. It is surprisingly deep and deals with important issues like rape, ptsd, homophobia, and surrogacy. I find that very unusual for writing in this genre. Don't get me wrong there is plenty of hot and steamy scenes dealing with BDSM. This book does end on a cliffhanger so you will be begging for book three as soon as you finish. I can't wait to dive into that one. I highly recommend this series.

Oh my goodness!! So hot, so intense, so passionate, and such a cliffhanger!!! I absolutely love Silas and Jessie. They are wonderful characters. And Salinger, Devin, and Corey are amazing personalities. I HAVE TO know what happens next!

Although I was happy for the continuation of the Silas/Jessie story, with his precious little daughter, Ruby, I wasn’t crazy about this installment of the series. The misuse of thesaurus words throughout became a source of hilarity, jerking me right out of the plot and making it difficult to get deeply involved in whatever was supposed to be going on. “My face falls with aphoristic shame.” Really??? LOL. Oh, btw, the marble is Carrara—Carrera is a Porsche. And if that weren’t enough, we end with a huge cliffhanger.
