BEST BOOK EVER!
I bought the paperback version of this from my son's daycare because Thanksgiving was coming up. I figured it would be a fun holiday book. I was dead wrong. My son (who was 4 months old when I bought it) has LOVED this book! He has loved it ever since I read it to him! If he sees it, he wants me to read it to him. When he's fussy on the changing table, I start quoting the book to him and he settles down and starts giggling! This book is still his favorite book (he's now 11 months old), and we've read it so much that I was THRILLED when I saw it was sold on Amazon as a board book! Now we don't have to try and keep his little hands off it--he can turn the pages himself, and he often likes to flip through the book by himself as well. If I could I'd give this book 10 stars!
Aside from my experience with the book, the drawings are very cute and bright colored, the writing is also very clever and keeps any child's attention. There isn't really a "moral" to the story or anything like that. It's just one of those nonsense books that rhyme and kids love--combine that with the very cute pictures, and this book is a sure fire winner!!

Strange words, but cute story and pictures unrelated to thanksgiving
Not my favorite thanksgiving book. It’s not really even for thanksgiving other than for the turkeys. It also uses very strange language that our family doesn’t say, such as “Looky” on every page, “fooling on a fence” (which I replace with sitting on a fence), “foofy”, “oofsy”, and “gooney”. The back cover says Scholastic UK, which might explain those phrases. It is basically a count down similar to “monkeys jumping on the bed” but ends with a broken fence and the turkeys assumingly starting over again in a tree (cute ending). The pictures are really cute though!

Great story
This rhyming story is fun to read to my grandchild. He enjoys the colorful illustrations and funny, rhythmic book. This is a board book which is perfect for a six-month old. However, I have read this book in paperback many times to second grade students who love the story !

Great book for toddlers!
I already knew my daughter would love this book because we previously checked it out from our library. She chose this book from her shelf multiple times every day. The book is funny, the illustrations are cute, and it holds up well since it is a board book.

cute book for beginners
This book is a cute book for kids learning to count. The drawings are fun and the "plot" is entertaining. It's good for beginning readers, but also a great book for parents or teachers to read to the youngsters. It's the kind of book that kids will ask to read (or have read to them) over and over. I purchased the book because my certified READ therapy dogs and I are working with a group of specially challenged children, so some of the group can read the words and the rest like the book read to them, while all learn about numbers. I'd recommend it, although I think there are some better books that also serve this purpose.

Hilarious Way to Anticipate Next Number
This book is hysterical! I love how the author uses rhyme to allow the child/children to identify the next number in this count down book. The illustrations are wonderfully captivating and the fact that it is a teaching tool is a bonus. I'm going to enjoy using this for the next couple of years with my children. This also makes a nice "love ya" present for Thanksgiving.

Fun and silly book
I first used this book when I subbed for Head Start. The 3 and 4 year old children enjoyed the bright colors and goofy pictures, as well as the silly rhymes. The older children caught on to the repetitous "Gobble, gobble, wibble wobble " and would say the line along with me as we neared the end of the book. I am now retired and reading it to my 20 month old granddaughter who seems to enjoy it just as much as the older children did. NOTE- this is a counting book and not a Thanksgiving book. But if you want a fun book to read during November this is a good pick.
